About Sala Timanfaya
Sala Timanfaya, also known as Teatro Timanfaya, is an intimate theatre in the centre of Puerto de la Cruz, housed in a former cinema that is now one of the town's main cultural spaces. It runs a programme throughout the year, which makes it a handy evening option for visitors staying in the north of the island.
The line-up leans towards crowd-pleasing shows. Flamenco is a regular, with productions such as Flamenco Pasión combining dance, guitar, singing and footwork, and there is a steady run of tribute concerts celebrating artists such as Elton John, Celine Dion, Phil Collins and Michael Jackson. Magic shows, comedy and classical music also appear, including midday concert cycles that showcase Canarian musicians.
The theatre is on Calle Las Damas, about five minutes' walk south of Plaza del Charco, so it is easy to pair a show with dinner in the old town or a stroll along the harbour and seafront.
