Los Cristianos Nightlife: A Guide to Evenings Out

Updated 29 October 2026 · DoTenerife

Los Cristianos nightlife is relaxed and sociable rather than wild: think seafront cocktail bars, pubs with resident singers, karaoke and quiz nights, and a handful of later music bars. It suits couples, families and long-stay visitors. If you want clubs, the Veronicas strip in Playa de las Américas is about 10 minutes away by taxi or a 30 to 40 minute walk along the promenade.

Live entertainment changes every night. The Los Cristianos area page lists tonight’s acts and start times in Tenerife time.

The main nightlife areas

Las Vistas seafront and San Telmo

The terraces around Las Vistas beach and the San Telmo area are among the liveliest parts of town after dark, with cafés, cocktail bars and music bars looking over the bay. It is a good place for sunset drinks that turn into a longer evening.

The old town and harbour

The streets near the port and the church square have Spanish and Canarian bars, tapas places and restaurants that stay busy with locals and visitors. Prices are often lower here than on the seafront, and the atmosphere is more traditional.

Towards Playa de las Américas

Along the road and promenade heading west, commercial centres hold British and Irish pubs, sports bars and show bars. As you get closer to Playa de las Américas, the nightlife becomes louder and later.

When to go out

  • Early evening (7pm–9pm): sunset drinks, dinner, families on the promenade.
  • 9pm–midnight: most live entertainment; the busiest time in pubs and show bars.
  • After midnight: quieter. Many bars close between midnight and 2am, and those wanting a late night head to Playa de las Américas.

Winter (roughly November to April) is often the busiest season for evening entertainment in Los Cristianos, because so many long-stay visitors spend the colder months here.

Prices

Los Cristianos is generally good value. As a rough guide:

  • Beer: around 2.50 to 4.50 euros in most bars, more on prime seafront terraces.
  • Wine by the glass: around 3 to 5 euros.
  • Cocktails: roughly 6 to 10 euros.

Entry to live music and show bars is usually free. Prices change, so check menus.

Getting to Playa de las Américas for a later night

  • Taxi: around 10 minutes to the Veronicas strip, usually inexpensive. There are ranks in the town centre and near the seafront.
  • Walk: the seafront promenade links Los Cristianos to Playa de las Américas and is busy and well lit in the evening. Allow 30 to 40 minutes.
  • Bus: TITSA buses run between the two, but late-night services are limited, so taxis are more practical after midnight.

Seasonal differences

Los Cristianos is busy all year, but the evening crowd changes. Winter brings many long-stay visitors from northern Europe, and bars with resident singers, quizzes and dancing are at their busiest. Summer and school holidays bring more families and younger groups, and the seafront terraces stay busy late. Around Carnival and the town’s own fiestas, there are street events and concerts as well.

Families

Los Cristianos is one of the better places in the south for a family evening. The promenade is safe and lively, many bars welcome children before about 10pm, and there are plenty of restaurants with early dinner menus. Late-night karaoke and comedy are aimed at adults, so check before taking children in.

Tips

  • Check the line-up on the day. Bars often confirm entertainment only a day or two ahead.
  • Try a local bar. In the old town, order a caña and a tapa for a taste of Canarian nightlife.
  • Respect neighbours. Los Cristianos is residential as well as touristy; keep noise down walking home.
  • Use licensed taxis from the ranks.
